Fishing
Set in breath taking scenery and within easy access of Callander this is the ideal location for some Loch fishing in the LLTNP. The Loch is not stocked so any fish you catch will be wild.
There are salmon, trout and coarse fish in the Loch.
We sell day and season permits for shore fishing and fishing from boats. There is a small boat launching site (further up the loch) which is available for the sole use of boat fishing permit holders. There is a speed limit and engine size limit on the loch of 6 knots, max 4HP engines.
Please note we do not have any boats for hire.

Swimming
Loch Lubnaig has become a popular open water swimming location for experienced swimmers. The deep water is fresh and clear but the long narrow loch surrounded by high hills is normally sheltered from the prevailing wind. With the exception of canoes and a few small fishing boats there is no traffic on the loch so leaving it tranquil and refreshing for an early morning swim.
Canoeing and Boats
Loch Lubnaig is an ideal peaceful loch for canoeing. Customers are welcome to bring their own canoe and launch from the Cabin. Please note we DO NOT hire any boats or canoes out. Also please note that there is pedestrian access only to the loch shore and no facility to launch larger boats.
Other Activities
Walking - an ideal base to camp and enjoy surrounding hill walks
Callander - a 10 minute drive to Callander where there are a large selection of shops and restaurants.
Car Parking and Facilities
At the Cabin we operate two rest areas in conjunction with the LLTNP authority.
Loch Lubnaig North Car Park – this is the location of the Cabin Food Kiosk. You will also find toilet facilities here, pay and display at all times.
Loch Lubnaig South Car Park – this site provides car parking and picnic area, pay and display at all times.
